Lions Dominate West County Spartans

ECYF Lions were impressive against West County.

The Scout team battled back from a 13-point deficit to tie the game at halftime. The Lions took a 20-13 lead in the fourth quarter, which was the final score. The Scouts are 6-0 this season.

The following game the Lions trailed 7-6 at halftime, but scored 18 unanswered points in the second half to go up 24 to 7, which was the final score.

Offensively, the Lions were boosted by the play of running back Bryson Parker, who had his best game of the year. He not only scored his first touchdown, but he also got a key block on another touchdown play.  Defensively, Kelvin Beshears was a force that West County had no answer for.  Additional touchdowns were scored by Tariq Adams on a 1-yard plunge, Nathan Bell, who scored on a reverse, and Marcello Santalori. Santalori’s touchdown came on a pass from Jaden Rashada.

The East County Junior Midgets won 55-0 to improve to 6-0. Jay Butterfield completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Giles Jackson on the opening play from scrimmage. Timmeon Jeffery scored on a 25-yard run and Justice Jackson scored on a two-yard run. The defense was led by the line of John Puckett, Nick Laughlin, Kevin Moore, Jacob Honey and Cody Muth. Safeties Cole Gregerson and Jackson also did well.
